Bill Fagan announced as Charleston’s Best Personal Trainer in 2007.
Before he was a personal trainer, (Sifu) Bill Fagan was a Kung Fu instructor, health food store owner, and Harvard-Trained psychologist, even running a psychiatric emergency room in Boston. After 22 years of teaching martial arts, (he still instructs Kung Fu at his East West Health Arts studio) the growing number of requests from people wanting a brief, intense training regimen led him to begin personal training. He’s done it for seven years, and won Best Personal Trainer five years consecutively.
“My background gives me a more holistic perspective on fitness, health, and personal growth,” says Fagan. “Our self image is tied to our appearance, and our internal chemistry affects our moods, energy and drive.” He takes a person’s self-esteem, motivation, and attitude in to account when designing a plan tailored for the individual.
“One thing is common to all of us,” explains Fagan. “An unexercised body produces a depressed body chemistry, while a fit individual experiences mood elevation, boundless energy, great sleep, and a plethora of health benefits. I guess I’m pretty lucky being in a position to pass that on every day.”
